Art Director for this menswear company. Worked on all aspects of collateral, retail signas, web relaunch and re-design, displays, hangtags, advertisements and more. Also handled all online marketing, social media, retention, analytics, and oversaw all online customer sales and support. Developed the Graphic Designer and Retail Marketing Manager positions. Contracted with developers, photographers, illustrators, copywriters, modeling agencies for various projects while art directing and producing all photo shoots, advertisements and marketing initiatives. Responsible for a large marketing/PR budget and the marketing P&L. Job also encompassed media buying, advertising, print negotiations, online marketing, overseeing retail marketing, and online merchandising.

Created the overall look, feel, and messaging (both recruitment and user-facing) of this online “new media” property which became a Top 100 web site during my employment. Managed all corporate ID, site UI, recruitment advertising, collateral and more. Managed all outsourced marketing and advertising firms, created corporate voice and style, managed up to 10 people internally and oversaw all social media presence. Managed all corporate strategic marketing partnerships including those with AEG Sports (Tour of California, David Beckham, LA Lakers, LA Kings, LA Galaxy, Houston Dynamo, and Bay to Breakers), National Cinemedia, and Walden Entertainment.

Developed brands, designed logos, collateral and ID systems for this boutique advertising agency and design shop in Denver. Pitched clients, brought in new work, oversaw press checks and negotiations.

09.04 – 12.05 Editor-in-Chief/Associate Publisher, Inside Triathlon (Boulder, CO)
Oversaw all aspects of design (including major redesign in 2005), editorial, publishing and marketing. Increased circulation by 33% in 15 months and created the first yearly profit in 6 years after merging americanTRI with this publication. Started the 25-person IT Team complete with sponsorship from various companies and represented Inside Triathlon at various industry events, including Interbike and the Ironman World Championships.
10.01 – 08.04 Founding Editor, americanTRI (Minneapolis, MN)
Founded this national triathlon publication with the second-most overall circulation among triathlon publications and a staff of 12. Oversaw all design, editorial and publishing efforts and negotiated all vendor contracts and print runs. Upheld brand image across all markets. Launched national guerilla marketing program to debut first issue in every running, triathlon and cycling shop and every un-sponsored triathlon event in the nation. Sold out of numerous issues including the 2004 Gear Guide, the fastest-ever to sell out in Barnes & Noble.
